Michigan CPL Courses
What to ExpectClass Details
Class starts at 8:00 AM and ends around 5:00 PM at the Southern Michigan Gun Club outdoor range (22471 38th Ave, Mattawan, MI).
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in.
This course meets and exceeds Michigan’s requirements for obtaining your Concealed Pistol License (CPL), including both classroom and range training.
Additional Information
This is a working lunch—we will eat while watching a required legal video.
Lunch is not provided, but a refrigerator and microwave are available. Please plan ahead.
You will receive:
A student packet
Instruction from experienced, knowledgeable instructors
A 1-year membership to the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners (MCRGO)
What to Bring
Driver’s License or State ID
1 handgun (pistol or revolver)
If you don’t have one, contact me ASAP—we have options available
50 rounds of ammunition for your firearm
Eye protection (ANSI-rated with side protection)
Ear protection (earmuffs or earplugs)
Magazines or speedloaders:
Semi-auto: 2 magazines (1 is okay if it holds 10+ rounds, but 2 is preferred)
Revolver: 2 speedloaders
Clothing & Gear
Dress for an outdoor range—we train in all weather (rain, snow, etc.)
Wear layers, as the classroom temperature may vary
Brimmed hat or cap is strongly recommended (helps prevent hot brass injuries)
No low-cut shirts or open-toed shoes/sandals
Important
Firearms and ammunition must remain in the range area during classroom time
No Holsters allowed
